To use the dxdiag command the only things you have to do are the following:. It's not hard to make Windows 10 faster. Here are several methods to improve the speed and performance of Windows Now A-Band is a very old frequency in terms of the telecommunications industry, so maybe Microsoft has decided they don't need it and that's why it causes a driver conflict Besides, the company is mothballing the distribution of XP next year, so what does that tell you!
Disabling the A band didn't work for me, But disabling A and B did work! I'm on vista. It's amazing how much money one can spent on a quality Dell notebook and not get the basic services to work such as playing music together with wirelessing. I just had my motherboard switched out believing that maybe the first generation was defective and maybe they got it right.
They didn't. To me, shipping an integrated system requires that extensive testing be done and the old-fashioned rule of law that Dell only support the operating systems it ships with is completely ridiculous. Dell, SigmaTel, and Microsoft all share blame here, but primarily Dell, who elected to utilize this company's product. I have an XPS M, not a low-ticket item. If something doesn't work, I expect work to be done quickly to resolve it.
I would LOVE to explore a class action lawsuit possiblity in that Dell is knowingly shipping defective products. If you have any interest of knowledge in this course of action, please reply to cdogdigsu hotmail. I just received my new Dell Vostro laptop a couple weeks ago - and I am having the same crackling problem with music and movies.
I am running Windows XP service pack 2 - not Vista. I did not want to deal with the headaches from Vista just yet. I do have the SigmaTel. Any suggestions for a repair with Windows XP? I have read many threads and see that this has been a problem for quite a while. I'm frustrated that Dell has still not corrected this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I found it after reading some gaming blogs where gamers had the same problem and someone said that downloading ATI catalyst and video drivers fixed the problems.
Good luck! Just like many of you, I was ready to sue Dell and would have done it--I'm a lawyer. To resolve the audio corruption disable or remove the LightFX plugging. Found this thread and disabled A band on the wireless card and everything is great now! I had the same problem, crackling sound when playing music on the computer. Short of re-installing the OS which is too much a hassle , I tried everything else and nothing worked. What did work was disabling the a band on the wireless card.
Problem fixed. I will however get this information to the people that need to know. I have had this "crackling" issue for 2 years with no useful solution. Now I have an issue with my visualizations and enhancements killing my WMP The advice to disable sound effects is very good, but with the Soundblaster software I just needed to disable the Bass Redirect and 15 db bass boost. I've tried all but the lowest.
Mine works with 16 bit DVD quality when the test button was pressed all the higher ones worked too, but only the 16 bit DVD quality actually worked with CD playback - no more crackling. You can disable ALL sound enhancement through windows audio device properties if you like, but I found it not necessary.
I have inspiron and when I play any sounds on the laptop it occasionally makes a crackling and poping noise. I sent the laptop 3 times for warranty repair the second one was onsite repair by a technician and the problem still persists.
I am very disapoinetd with the quality of this DELL product and the subsequent repair attempts. Did anyone have similar experience?

I have been on the phone with Gateway for over an hour and a half trouble shooting. And guess what???? On the other hand, my music plays fine in media at the regular setting. It only crackles when I speed it up which is weird. After hours on the phone, the rep told me that Media 11 only plays music at its regular speed and can't be sped up unless Microsoft helps me to change settings.
Any ideas would be great! Saturday, July 7, PM. I have had the same exact issue and disabling the Draft N wireless adapter solved my problem too. The guys at dell shipped me a new wireless card 2 weeks ago but it did not solve the problem. I think you're right, it must be some sort of software issue but the guys at dell are totally clueless. I tell you one thing, I'm through talking about this with the "techs" at dell. This included running their diagnostic programs which I have ran about 15 times already and verifying that my volume was not set too high.
He was not at all interested in hearing about the wireless network card and was very argumentative. Some of those guys really need better training and a better grasp of the English language. Similar to your DVD drivers , video cards, USB devices and other hardware devices on your Windows Vista, even these sound cards require driver software software components to communicate between OS and the computer. Typically the sound driver comes pre-installed on most Vista computers; if you are installing a new sound card then you would have to install a new driver.
Fortunately installing a new Windows Vista sound driver is easy and requires just few steps. Read on the below steps to learn how this installation can be done:.

IF I have music or ventrillo running in the background that also goes out. I spoke with some other player's in World of Warcraft and they have the same issues and we are all running Window's Vista. After I restart or reboot the sound works fine, but any time if I open those programs the sound just cuts out and forces me to restart.
Any ideas?
